Ranunculus asiaticus, commonly know as the Persian buttercup, is the member buttercup family most cultivated for floristry. The name ranunculus translates from Latin to "little frog" because of the tendency of many buttercups' to grow near water. Varieties found in here are often double-flowered, producing delicately layered open blooms. Ranunculus season is New Zealand is just ramping up, so we thought we've give you a nice early taste of the spring to come!
